Korea is a real cafe nation, when you step out on to just any street in Seoul, you are faced with not just 1 or 2 coffees cafe but possibly the whole stretch of it.
And in this fierce competition, cafes are forced to differentiate each other with their own distinctive style.
Hollys, started in 1998, serves the usual coffee shop fare like espresso, cappuccinos, etc, but the most outstanding one goes to its "Sweet potato latte".
Korean love their sweet potato. And I have no idea why.
When i go on the streets, people are selling baked sweet potato, the convenience store have them air dried and when i turn on the tv, i see a virtual couple being named as "Goguma Couple".
Even when i just moved in to my goshiwon, I was given sweet potato.

Any the way,
Hollys' sweet potato latte is priced pretty steep at 5,300won and apparently on its' menu, available only in the hot version (i got ask by the cashier if i want it cold. -.- ).
The sweet potato latte is topped with almond and taste pretty much like blended sweet potato and milk but in a more liquid version. The drink is very sweet and when you reached the end, you would have probably exceeded your sugar intake for the whole month.

Lover of sweet potato will get addicted to this but if Hollys is not available anywhere near you, fret not, you may follow this recipe and get a equally strong sugar buzz.

I may not be a lover of sweet potato but this drink sure do intrigue me. Excuse me while I go and run on the treadmill.
